What anesthesia is used with Tumescent Liposuction?
Tumescent Liposuction fluid numbs the entire operative area.
This surgery can be done under general anesthesia or with
just the local anesthetics of the tumescent solution alone.
General anesthesia permits you to be asleep during the entire
operation. After waking up, the local anesthetic effect of
the tumescent fluid permits you to remain comfortable for
several hours. Other patients prefer the simplicity of the
local anesthesia alone. The addition of sedation with the
local anesthesia can relieve anxiety and often leaves little
memory of the operation.
